Terrorists Attack Polio Team in North Waziristan, Pakistani Soldier Martyred: ISPR

PESHAWAR: In a brazen attempt to disrupt the polio vaccination campaign, terrorists fired upon a polio team in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday.

Security Forces Ensure Safety of Polio Team

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the incident in a press release, stating that security forces deployed to protect the team effectively engaged the terrorists and ensured the safety of all members of the polio team, successfully extracting them unharmed.

However, in the exchange of fire, Sepoy Saqib Ur Rehman, a 25-year-old resident of district Mardan, valiantly sacrificed his life in the line of duty, attaining martyrdom, ISPR said.

The area is now being thoroughly sanitized to eliminate any remaining terrorists. The security forces remain resolute in their determination to eradicate the menace of terrorism, and the sacrifices made by brave soldiers like Sepoy Saqib Ur Rehman only strengthen their resolve.
