PESHAWAR: Unidentified terrorists launched a brazen late-night hand grenade assault on the residence of a Frontier Constabulary (FC) official in the Mathra area, causing partial damage to the property but fortunately resulting in no casualties.

According to local authorities, the targeted individual, FC official Fazl Rabi, had been receiving threatening messages from militants associated with the banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) operating from Afghanistan. These messages demanded a ransom of Rs 30 million.

Law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene following the attack, initiating a search operation in the area to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent any further acts of violence or intimidation.

The incident underscores the persistent security challenges faced by law enforcement officials and civilians alike in regions where militant groups continue to operate, highlighting the importance of robust counter-terrorism efforts and community vigilance in thwarting such threats.
