LAHORE: The Punjab Textbook Board has banned a class 11 sociology book on the grounds of objectionable content.
According to a statement issued by the Managing Director (MD) of Punjab Textbook Board, Dr. Farooq Manzoor has issued a show-cause notice to the publisher after banning the 11th class social science book on the basis of objectionable content. They said that a private publisher was issued a show cause notice for printing a sociology book without an NOC. He further stated that the book contained objectionable content related to elements hindering social change.
Apart from this, sociology is not included in the syllabus of the Punjab Text Book Board. That is why teams of Punjab Board are picking up books from the market.
