Thailand’s Envoy Vows to Enhance Cooperation with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Thailand’s Ambassador to Pakistan Chakkrid Krachaiwong has said Pakistan and Thailand have cultivated a long-standing friendship with over 70 years of diplomatic ties and connection through Ghandhara civilization. He expressed these remarks while speaking on the occasion of Thai Armed Forces Day. Lt. General Muhammad Aqeel, Inspector General of Communication and Information Technology, Pakistan Army grace the occasion as chief guest. The ambassador said he would like to extend his heartfelt appreciation to all guests for honouring the occasion with their presence.

Pakistan-Thailand Ties

The Ambassador said, ‘As a major player in the region of South Asia, Pakistan can play a very crucial role in ensuring peace and security in the region amidst the current global situation.’ The envoy said the defence cooperation between Thailand and Pakistan is one of the important aspects of their cooperation, contributing to the promotion of security and stability for the global community. The Ambassador said that they wanted to enhance bilateral ties and cooperation with Pakistan in all sectors.  The Ambassador hoped that cooperation and friendly relations between the two friendly nations would further enhance in the upcoming days.

He also thanked the defence and military attaches representing various nations who play a very significant role in building trust and confidence, which is the cornerstone of lasting peace. He thanked the government of and people of Pakistan for taking care of the foreigners very well. The ambassador said he was very optimistic that cooperation and friendly ties between the defence and military attache in Pakistan will continue to deepen and contribute to the wellbeing of the international community.

On the occasion, Defence Attache Colonel Thanai Perm Paul said that Pakistan and Thailand have enjoyed friendly ties for long and the two sides are also cooperating in many sectors. He added that his country wants to extend cooperation with Pakistan in diverse sectors for the benefit of the two sides’ people. He also discussed the historical diplomatic relations and cooperation between the two nations. He said that the two sides had established diplomatic ties in 1951 and the friendship between the two sides is growing with each passing day.

He further said that the delegations of the two sides attended events in each other countries to extend cooperation. On the occasion, the Thai children presented spell-binding cultural performances and received huge applause from the spectators.
