The GCC Ministerial Council Adopts Important Decisions to Benefit Gulf Actions

RIYADH: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohammed Albudaiwi, has said that the 159th session of the Ministerial Council of the GCC has adopted significant decisions benefiting joint Gulf actions., the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.

He said that the session also addressed various reports pertaining to the implementation of decisions taken during the 44th GCC Supreme Council Summit in Doha.

This session held on Sunday, at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh, chaired by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

Albudaiwi said that sideline meetings were also held individually with Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco. He affirmed that these meetings helped to contribute the GCC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties and partnerships with regional and international states and organizations.

Additionally, the Secretary-General said that the session delved into several memoranda and reports submitted by the technical, ministerial, general secretariat committees. Talks covered issues related to dialogues and strategic ties between GCC states and international counterparts, addressing the latest regional and global developments in the process.

He further added that the council received a briefing from the General Coordinator of Negotiations, who also serves as the Head of the Negotiating Team of the GCC.

The meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministers of the GCC countries, highlighting the collaborative nature of the talks and decisions taken during this significant event.
