Thousands Rally Across Australia in Solidarity with Palestinians, Condemn Israel’s Actions

MELBOURNE: Tens of thousands of people gathered across Australia on Sunday to express solidarity with the innocent Palestinians and voice their opposition to Israel’s ongoing attacks on Gaza. The protests, held in major cities, drew large number of crowds, reflecting the growing concern over the Israeli aggression in the Middle East.

In Melbourne, pro-Palestinian protesters gathered in front of the State Library of Victoria before marching towards parliament. Police estimates indicated that approximately 45,000 people attended the rally, where calls for an end to the siege in Gaza and an immediate ceasefire echoed. Speakers at the event characterized the Israeli attacks in Gaza as “ethnic cleansing” and strongly condemned the bombing of hospitals.

Meanwhile, another major rally took place in Brisbane, Queensland, attracting thousands of participants who echoed calls for peace and an end to the Israeli violence against innocent Palestinians.

Australian Expresses Concern Over Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong expressed the government’s concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Wong reiterated the government’s call for a “humanitarian pause” and urged stakeholders to take the necessary steps towards a complete ceasefire.
