Thousands Tourists Run Towards Murree After First Winter Snowfall

MURREE: In the aftermath of heavy snowfall in Murree, all roads in the popular tourist destination have been successfully cleared, according to a statement from the spokesperson of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

According to the details, over the last 24 hours, approximately 4,000 vehicles entered Murree, with around 1,800 vehicles leaving the city following the snowfall. Traffic management strategies were implemented effectively to address the situation.

The spokesperson for PDMA emphasized that concerned officers were actively present in the field, leading the management team during the challenging weather conditions.

PDMA’s spokesperson requested tourists to check weather conditions before planning their travels and emphasized the importance of considering weather forecasts, especially for those traveling from other provinces.

Relief Commissioner of Punjab, Nabil Javed, said that the administration played a diligent role in managing the situation on ground after the heavy snowfall.

Although snowfall persists in Murree, Nabil Javed assured that the administration remains on full alert. Tourists have been urged to cooperate with the administration, avoiding risky adventures during the ongoing weather conditions.
