KHANEWAL: The district administration organized a three-day book fair on Friday, featuring 22 stalls offering discounts of up to 50 percent on over one hundred thousand books.
District and Session Judge Nadeem Shaukat, alongside Deputy Commissioner (DC) Wasim Hamid Sindhu, inaugurated the fair and took a tour of the stalls. Both guests showed keen interest in the storytelling and cultural sections.
Judge Nadeem Shaukat commended the district administration’s efforts in promoting literature, knowledge, and culture. He emphasized the undeniable importance of reading books in today’s era and urged parents to foster a reading habit in their children.
In his remarks, DC Sindhu stated that the book fair aimed to increase a love for books among people of all ages, including children and adults. He assured that such initiatives would continue in the future for the benefit of citizens.
Prior to the event, the DC also participated in a tree-planting activity.
