RIYADH: This year’s Saudi Falcons Club Auction, was held at the club’s headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, until November 15, witnessed the sale of 3 falcons for a total of SAR412,000 on the auction’s 15th night, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The SPA reported that the bidding started with the first falcon, a young Shaheen presented by Khaled Al-Harbi, which sold for around SAR76,000. The second one, another young Shaheen presented by Badr Al-Azmi, was sold for around SAR135,000, the SPA added.
The evening also concluded with an intense bidding round for the 3rd falcon, a young Shaheen presented by Abdullah Al-Thalabi. Starting at SAR50,000, the falcon attracted main competition and sold for about SAR201,000, according to the SPA.
The Saudi Falcons Club also offers comprehensive services for falconers throughout the auction season, the SPA added. The club’s teams in the Eastern, Northern, Northwestern, as well as Southwestern regions support falcon owners by arranging accommodations as well as transportation to the auction site, according to the SPA. Each falcon is showcased in a fast-paced live auction broadcast on TV and via the club’s social media platforms.
