Three Terrorists Killed, Three Soldiers Martyred in Separate Incidents in KP

RAWALPINDI: Three terrorists were killed, while three brave soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom in three incidents that occurred on Friday in different areas of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of the country, Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to ISPR, an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted in the Rori area of Dera Ismail Khan district. During the operation, one terrorist was killed, while two terrorists were injured, ISPR stated. The killed terrorist has been identified as Usama, TTP’s suicide bomber, who was planning to carry out a high-profile incident in the area, ISPR stated.

In a second operation conducted in Lakki Marwat district, one terrorist was killed, and several terrorist hides were busted, the ISPR statement said. However, during an intense exchange of fire, two soldiers of the Pakistan army; Naik Zafar Iqbal (age: 37 years, resident of Gujranwala district) and Sepoy Haji Jan (age: 30 years, resident of Ghizar district of Gilgit Baltistan), having fought gallantly embraced martyrdom.

In another incident, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district, and resultantly, Havildar Shahid Iqbal (age: 39 years, resident of Mirpur Khas district) embraced martyrdom, ISPR stated.

Sanitization operations are being carried out to eliminate any terrorists present in the areas. The security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen Pakistan’s security forces’ resolve, ISPR reaffirmed.
