PESHAWAR: In response to Pakistan’s one-month ultimatum, a total of 33,555 Afghan nationals without legal status have crossed from Pakistan into Afghanistan through the Torkham border Between October 1 and 23, 2023.
Official records indicate that due to the absence of proper documentation, these individuals, which include 2,772 families comprising 8,309 men, 5,457 women, and 19,789 children, have relocated to the Torkham Border.
It is noteworthy that the Pakistani government has issued a directive for all unregistered Afghan families to return to Afghanistan by October 31, 2023. After the specified deadline, strict measures will be enforced against those who do not comply.
