ISLAMABAD: In a major relief, the district and sessions court permitted former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to return after marking his attendance outside the Judicial Complex in Islamabad, where the PTI chief is set to be indicted in the Toshakhana case.

On Saturday, additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Zafar Iqbal permitted Imran Khan to mark his attendance outside the Islamabad Judicial Complex.

During the hearing, the judge remarked that the hearing and appearance could not proceed in the current situation. He said all those gathered outside the Judicial Complex should disperse after marking attendance. There is no need for pelting or shelling; the hearing cannot be held today.

Court receives Imran Khan’s signature

He added that once Imran Khan’s signatures were received, it could be discussed later at what date to hold Imran’s appearance again.

People inside the courtroom were facing severe difficulties due to the effects of the tear gas shelling, and the courtroom windows were pelted by stones as well.

As Imran Khan and his convoy reached outside the Judicial Complex earlier, he alleged that he was not allowed to enter the premises of the court.

In an audio message released to the media, the PTI chief said: “I am waiting outside the Islamabad Judicial Complex’s door for 15 minutes and am trying to enter the court premises, but they have done teargas shelling and erected checkpoints, and it seems they do not want that I reach here.”

Despite that, Khan reiterated that he was outside the judicial complex and was attempting to enter it.

Many party workers, who were accompanying the former prime minister, attempted to escort him onto court premises, but they were not allowed to due to security arrangements.

Earlier today, a vehicle in the convoy of former Pakistan PM Imran Khan met with an accident as he was heading to Islamabad today, informed Pakistan media.
