Tourist Influx Prompts Murree Administration to Reinstate Restrictions Amidst Snowfall

ISLAMABAD: As snowfall blankets the picturesque hill resort of Murree, tourists are flocking to its enchanting surroundings, creating a surge in visitor numbers.

In response to the growing influx, the district administration has taken proactive measures, reinstating restrictions and temporarily halting tourists at the Satra Meel point. The decision aims to manage the increasing crowds and ensure the safety and well-being of both tourists and locals.

The administration has said that the entry of tourists to Murree will resume as conditions permit. If the current rush subsides, the enchanting landscapes of Murree will once again be open for visitors to experience.

In light of the situation, the district administration urged citizens to refrain from unnecessary travel and to adopt precautionary measures during the snowfall to prevent any untoward incidents.

Guidelines for Tourists Visiting Murree 

Meanwhile, the City Traffic Police (CTP) has urged the tourists to abide by traffic rules to avert congestion and road mishaps in the hill station.

A spokesperson for the City Traffic Police (CTP) revealed that the department has already finalized arrangements to ensure the safety of visitors, especially during snowy conditions.

Rawalpindi City Traffic Officer Taimoor Khan has appealed to tourists to observe traffic rules in Murree, emphasizing the need to prevent traffic disruptions and untoward incidents during the winter season.

The spokesperson further informed that special teams have been assembled to facilitate tourists and address any issues they might encounter in Murree. Notably, parking vehicles outside designated areas is strictly prohibited.

He stressed, “There is a comprehensive ban on illegal parking on the roads in Murree, particularly at exit and entry points.” Tourists are urged to cooperate to maintain order and safety on the roads of this popular winter destination.
