ISLAMABAD: The Implementation Tribunal for Newspaper Employees on Thursday issued bailable warrant arrest of Chief Editor Shehryar Taseer and Group Editor Kazim Khan of the Media Times/Daily Times for continuous absence from the hearing to explain the non-implementation of judgements.
Accordingly, the tribunal, led by its Chairman Shahid Mehmood Khokhar, said in its verdict that despite repeated notices the respondents were unable to appear before the tribunal. The tribunal also directed the respondents to appear on the next date of hearing before the tribunal to be held in Lahore.
Tribune issues bailable arrest warrant
The tribunal also directed the Secretary Information Government of Pakistan to suspend the name of M/S Daily Times, Lahore from the central media list and to submit a compliance report before the next date of hearing.
The tribunal also directed the DGPR government of Punjab to submit complete details of advertisements given to M/S Daily Times, Lahore during the last five years.
