WASHINGTON, USA: In a recent Fox News poll conducted from August 9-12, former President Donald Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris by a slim margin of 1 point among registered voters in a hypothetical 2024 match-up. Trump, alongside running mate Senator JD Vance, garnered 50% support, while Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, secured 49%. This narrow lead for Trump mirrors the results of a similar poll from July 2024, where Trump also led President Biden by 1 point.

Notably, Harris performs better than Biden did in previous polls when third-party candidates are included. In the latest poll, both Harris and Trump are tied at 45% when facing third-party challengers, with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. trailing at 6%. Other third-party candidates, including Cornel West, Jill Stein, and Chase Oliver, each received 1% support.

On specific issues, registered voters trust Harris more than Trump on climate change, abortion, healthcare, uniting the country, and Supreme Court nominations. Conversely, Trump is favored over Harris on border security, immigration, foreign policy, the economy, crime, and gun policies.

Harris has gained momentum nationally and in swing states, leading Trump by 48.1% to 46.5% in the Decision Desk HQ/The Hill polling average. With a 3-point margin of error, this poll underscores the tight race between the two potential candidates as the 2024 election approaches.
