MILWAUKEE, USA: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump promised on Thursday to resolve ongoing international crises and restore America’s standing on the global stage, claiming he could “stop wars with a telephone call.” Speaking at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Trump painted a bleak picture of the world under President Joe Biden, asserting that the planet is “teetering on the edge of World War III.”

“We will restore peace, stability, and harmony all throughout the world,” Trump declared, although he did not provide specifics on how he would achieve these goals. He emphasized that under his leadership, the United States would regain respect globally, with secure borders and unquestioned power.

Trump attributed various global conflicts directly to Biden, despite many having deeper historical roots. “There is an international crisis the likes of which the world has seldom been part of… war is now raging in Europe, in the Middle East, a growing specter of conflict hangs over Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, and all of Asia,” Trump said. He pledged to resolve these crises if elected to a second term, including ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.

To underscore his tough stance, Trump demanded the return of Americans held abroad, warning of severe consequences if they were not released before he took office. “The entire world, I tell you this: we want our hostages back and they better be back before I assume office or you will be paying a very big price,” he asserted, without providing further details.

Trump also proposed building a version of Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system for the United States, despite the system’s limitations against long-range threats. He suggested that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, with whom he had previously met, was eager for his return to the White House. “I get along with him, he’d like to see me back too. I think he misses me, if you want to know,” Trump claimed.

Trump’s speech aimed to highlight his perceived ability to handle international relations and security better than the current administration, promising a return to what he described as a more stable and respected America.
