Turkish, Iranian Presidents Emphasize Constructive Interaction with Afghan Officials

ANKARA: The presidents of Turkiye and Iran have emphasized the need for practical and constructive interaction with the Afghan officials and the establishment of an all-inclusive government.

Following a meeting Thursday between the two presidents in Turkiye, a joint statement was issued in this regard, according to Afghan media.

Both leaders condemned Israel’s war against Gaza and demanded for an immediate end to the attacks and for the lifting of the blockade into the Gaza strip and the urgent, unhindered, and sufficient delivery of essential goods and services to the Palestinian people.

Presidents for respecting territorial integrity of Caucasus countries

Also, stressing on the need to respect the territorial integrity of the nations of the Caucasus region, the two countries evaluated the 3+3 regional platform as a suitable forum for consultation and constructive cooperation between the member states.

In the joint statement they said constructive and practical interaction with the current officials of Afghanistan as important and stressed the need to create an inclusive, responsive, and responsible government in Afghanistan on behalf of all the people of this country and provide security for them without any sectarian and ethnic discrimination.

Also, the necessity of comprehensive fight against all terrorist outfits, human trafficking and illegal traffic, drug production and trafficking, providing the possibility of safe, honorable, and voluntary return of all illegal Afghan immigrants to their country were other problems emphasized by both sides.
