Turkiye Urges Iran to Avoid Further Escalation with Israel

ANKARA: Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan telephoned his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and discussed post Iran’s retaliatory attack on Israel situation in the region, as reported by local Turkish media.

During the conversation, Fidan conveyed Turkey’s stance on the recent escalation of tensions in the region, expressing Ankara’s desire to avoid further escalation.

Amir Abdollahian assured Fidan that Iran’s retaliatory operation against Israel had concluded and stated that Iran would refrain from initiating any new operation unless provoked.

Additionally, Fidan held a separate conversation with UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, emphasizing the importance of preventing further escalation between Iran and Israel.

Both sides highlighted the significance of de-escalating tensions during their discussion.
