Turkmenistan’s National Poet, Magtymguly Fragi Metaphor for Peace: Speakers

ISLAMABAD: Speakers, thinkers, and dignitaries in the conference held here on Monday paid compliments and described Turkmenistan’s national poet and intellectual Magtymguly Fragi as a metaphor for peace and unity in the sphere of regional literature and cultural integration.

To pay tribute to the National poet and intellectual of Turkmenistan Magtymguly Fragi, amid a gathering organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan to Pakistan and the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies in collaboration with Tabani Group, the speakers expressed that Magtymguly Fragi is a symbol and strong voice for mutual cultural cooperation and integration in the region.

Addressing the conference, Federal Minister for Culture Syed Jamal Shah said that the national poet of Turkmenistan, Magtymguly Fragi, was a great poet, thinker, and a symbol of a strong voice for peace and unity not only for the people of Turkmenistan but also for the whole region. 

He further said that taking benefit of Magtymguly Fragi’s poetry and thoughts could be a significant development for mutual integration in the region, whose poetry could create a strong bridge among the people of the region. Jamal Shah said that poetry and music had no boundaries and were important means of communication among people through which a new era of mutual unity, understanding, and peace could be promoted.

“Magtymguly Fragi has promoted diversity, peace, and harmony among people. The poet’s vision is based on constructing a community with prosperity and stability in Eurasia, South Asia, and beyond” “the minister said.

Meanwhile, in his remarks, Atadjan Movlamov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, said that there were many similarities between the national poet of Turkmenistan, Faraghi, and the national poet of Pakistan, Allama Iqbal.

Contribution of Turkmenistan’s National Poet for Unity, Peace

The Ambassador further said both the great poets had a universal message of unity, love, peace, and tolerance. The Ambassador said that Faragi was a preacher of peace whose message was important for mutual peace and development in the whole region.

Commenting about mutual relations, the Ambassador said that Pakistan and Turkmenistan have enjoyed a strong brethren and friendly relationship over the years in different sectors, adding that the current event was a continuation of the 300th birth anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi. 

Earlier, in her opening remarks, Dr. Farhat Asif, President of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, highlighted the 300th birth anniversary of the great poet, adding that the Greatest Turkmen efforts and thinking of the great poet Magtymguly Fragi were there behind the vision and wisdom of today’s glorious modern Turkmenistan.

On this occasion, intellectuals, poets, and people from different walks of life also paid tribute to the national poet of Turkmenistan, Fragi, and revealed various aspects of his literary work and personal life.
