ISLAMABAD: In a surprising move earlier this week, the classic Bird logo of Twitter was replaced with the “Doge” meme by none other than Elon Musk, the world’s second richest person.

However, just a few days after the switch, the microblogging site has now reinstated the blue bird, much to the relief of its users.

Although Musk did not share the reason behind the change in logo, the value of Dogecoin witnessed an almost 30% increase.

Dogecoin, which started as a joke cryptocurrency, has gained popularity in recent months thanks to endorsements from high-profile individuals like Musk and Mark Cuban.

Twitter owner making various changes

The Twitter owner has been making various changes at the social media giant since he bought the firm. Recently, he announced that only verified Twitter accounts would be eligible to cast votes in polls starting April 15, a move that Twitter’s CEO believes will address advanced AI bot swarms.

Elon Musk also said only verified accounts will be eligible to be in Twitter For You recommendations, which displays a stream of tweets from accounts on Twitter.

This move aims to make the platform more secure and prevent misinformation from spreading.

The reinstatement of the classic Bird logo will surely be welcomed by Twitter users who were confused and surprised by the sudden switch to the Doge meme.

However, it remains to be seen whether Musk will make any further changes to the social media platform in the near future.
