Two Brothers Killed, Two Injured in Targeted Attack Near Guru Mandir, Karachi

KARACHI: At least two brothers were killed and two others injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire on their car near Guru Mandir in Karachi on Thursday morning.

Superintendent of Police Aleena Rajpar reported that the incident appears to be a targeted killing involving six suspects on three motorcycles. All the victims were identified as brothers on their way to the city court for a hearing.

Efforts are underway to determine the motive behind the attack, according to the police. A 9mm pistol was used, and 18 bullet casings were recovered from the scene. The injured brothers were rushed to a private hospital, where two succumbed to their injuries, and two remain in critical condition. One brother miraculously survived the attack.

SP Rajpar stated that the police have collected evidence and believe the attack was due to enmity. During a press briefing, she identified the deceased brothers as Sajid Aurangzeb and Omair Aurangzeb, while the injured were named Wajid and Zubair.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has requested a report from the city’s police chief and urged immediate arrests of those involved. He expressed concern over such an alarming incident occurring in the heart of the city.
