ATLANTA, USA: Two Delta Air Lines planes collided on a taxiway at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Tuesday morning. An Airbus A350, bound for Tokyo, clipped the tail of a smaller Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jet operated by Delta’s subsidiary, Endeavor Air, while taxiing. The impact caused the tail of the regional jet to topple over.

No injuries were reported, and Delta quickly rebooked passengers on other flights. Air traffic control audio captured the moment, with the controller noting the missing tail of the regional jet and asking if assistance was needed.

Passengers recounted the experience, describing the collision’s loud metal scraping sounds. Photos shared on social media showed the tail of the smaller plane knocked sideways.

Delta apologized to customers and stated that both aircraft would be moved to maintenance hangars. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have launched investigations into the incident. Airport officials reported minimal operational disruptions.
