Two Killed After Laptop Catches Fire in Pakistan

FAISALABAD: Two children died and seven people were wounded when a fire erupted due to a laptop blow up at a home in Faisalabad, according to a Health official.

Rescue officials stated that the fire broke out due to the laptop battery explosion while it was charging in a house on Satyana Road. The blaze was eventually extinguished. Nine family members, including five children and two women, were rushed to Allied Hospital following the incident. Tragically, two siblings—a brother and sister—succumbed to their injuries, while the remaining seven are being treated for severe burns, covering 50% to 60% of their bodies.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed condolences over the children’s deaths, offering sympathy to the grieving family. The provincial government vowed that best medical treatment to be provided to the injured.

Regional Police Officer Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan has issued directives to the police to investigate the incident. The Faisalabad deputy commissioner also formed a committee to probe the matter and confirmed that every possible step to be taken to provide best medical treatment to the injured.
