LAHORE: A two-member Lahore High Court (LHC) bench will hear the post-arrest bail application of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist and fashion designer Khadijah Shah, on July 20

According to the cause list issued on Saturday, the bench will be headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi. A case was registered against Khadijah Shah at the Lahore’s Sarwar Road police station.

The designer said in her bail application that she was imprisoned in jail on judicial remand and that no further investigation is required from her. She requested the court to approve the post-arrest bail application.

The LHC had on Wednesday rejected petitions seeking to declare unlawful the detention of Shah and some others allegedly involved in the May 9 violence cases, saying the case has been registered and the law will take its course. A two-member bench led by Justice Najafi had heard the case.

The verdict stated that the detention of the petitioners couldn’t be deemed illegal at this stage, as the law is currently taking its course.

The LHC maintained that legal procedures cannot be bypassed and that the case against the petitioners has been duly registered, with investigations underway.
