RAWALPINDI: Five terrorists, including two suicide bombers, were killed as Pakistan’s security forces thwarted an attempted attack on a security forces post in Qila Abdullah district of southwestern Balochistan province, the military’s media wing stated on Tuesday.

“On the night of January 27/28, Khwarij (a term used for terrorists of the banned TTP) attempted to attack a security forces post in the general area of Gulistan in Qila Abdullah district of Balochistan,” the military media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Security forces effectively thwarted the terrorists’ attempt to enter the post, forcing the attackers to detonate an explosive-laden vehicle against the perimeter wall of the post, according to the ISPR.

In the ensuing exchange of fire, all five terrorists, including the two suicide bombers, were killed. “Own troops fought bravely, and in the exchange of fire, all five Khwarij, including two suicide bombers, were sent to hell,” the statement read.
