ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Alzaabi has congratulated Arshad Nadeem on winning gold medal at Paris Olympics.
“I extend heartfelt congratulations to the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Arshad Nadeem’s historic gold medal at the Paris Olympics with record-breaking 92.97-metre throw,” he said in a statement on Friday.
He added this victory is a testament to the talent and determination of the Pakistani people that brings immense pride to Pakistan and inspires athletes globally.
“As the UAE Ambassador, I am proud to witness such milestones in our brotherly nation,” said Alzaabi.
Arshad Nadeem set a new Olympic record on Thursday and eventually ended Pakistan’s 32-year wait for success at the Games by clinching the coveted gold medal in the men’s javelin final round in Paris.
He shocked everyone on his second attempt, with a monstrous 92.97-throw, which the rest of the field could not even come close for the rest of the contest.
