ABU DHABI: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in a telephonic discussion with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.

They talked about the new avenues of strategic bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation and partnership in various sectors.

Sheikh Abdullah lauds US support

Sheikh Abdullah lauded the unwavering US support, instrumental in the recent historic resolution adopted by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), that served as a resounding endorsement of tolerance, international peace, and security. The resolution, jointly drafted by the UAE and the United Kingdom, represents a significant milestone as it marks the first-ever acknowledgment that hate speech, intolerance, and extremism can actively fuel conflicts.

Graciously acknowledging Blinken’s instrumental role in garnering US support for the UNSC resolution, Sheikh Abdullah warmly expressed the shared vision of the UAE and the US in their unwavering commitment to fostering the values of tolerance, coexistence, and harmony.
