PESHAWAR: University of Engineering Technology (UET), Peshawar and an internationally renowned applied artificial intelligence company Afiniti Siftware Solutions (Pvt) Ltd., entered into a collaboration through which expos, internships, scholarships and guest lectures would be organized for the students of UET at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
On Monday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Monday when the Afiniti Assistant Manager Imran Khan and Dean Electrical and Computer Engineering Dr Amjid Ullah endorsed the documents.
UET Peshawar VC appreciates initiative
Dr. Iftikhar Hussain, UET Peshawar Vice Chancellor, appreciated the initiative and stressed the need of extending scope from internships to specialized work opportunities for postgraduate students.
He said that UET was the only public sector engineering university that has five laboratories and centers of excellence in cloud computing, data science, cyber security and artificial intelligence.
The VC further said that such collaboration with the leading tech company would create job opportunities and advance research in artificial intelligence and computer software engineering.
On the occasion, Afiniti Assistant Manager Imran Khan said that the company had cooperation over twenty countries and the main objective of its collaboration with the UET Peshawar was to promote local talent and support the talented students to achieve their educational targets.
