Chopping, frying and chatting ahead of World Refugee Day, chefs Najee and Sanobar help their Syrian colleague Faten teach family recipes to a group of young professionals. The session is taking place at the Migrateful Cookery School in central London, a charity aimed at supporting asylum seekers, refugees and migrants who “are struggling to integrate”, according to founder and CEO Jess Thompson. Najee fled Afghanistan in 2021 as the Taliban returned to power. “Whenever I see people or a group of people eating the food, you get a connection with the people,” he says. AFP
