LONDON: UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron has signaled that the UK’s patience is wearing thin regarding the delivery of aid to Gaza by Israel. He is set to warn Israeli war cabinet member Benny Gantz on this matter during their scheduled meeting today.

The foreign secretary’s meeting with Mr. Gantz, a former general, comes on the heels of Gantz’s discussions in the White House, where similar concerns were raised regarding aid distribution in Gaza.

Addressing parliament on Tuesday, Cameron highlighted a significant decline in the amount of assistance reaching Gaza in February compared to January. Stressing Israel’s responsibility as the occupying power, he emphasized the imperative of ensuring the timely delivery of aid to Gaza’s inhabitants.

While the UK initially supported Israel’s military actions against Palestinian resistance group Hamas following the October 7 attacks, there has been a notable shift in stance. Downing Street has expressed alignment with the US in calling for an immediate halt to the ongoing conflict, signaling a growing urgency for peace.
