KYIV: According to Ukraine’s Air Force, 14 of the 17 drones and a Kh-59 cruise missile launched by Russia overnight were neutralized. Additionally, missiles were reportedly fired from S-300 long-range surface-to-air missile systems, though specifics on their impact were not disclosed.

Oleh Synehubov, governor of Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, stated that Russia targeted the region using missiles from S-300 systems located in Russia’s Belgorod region bordering Ukraine. Initial assessments indicate no casualties, though some non-residential buildings sustained damage.

In a separate incident, Serhiy Lisak, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, reported that drones attacked Pavlohrad city, resulting in power outages but no casualties.

Reuters has not been able to independently corroborate these accounts. Both Russia and Ukraine have escalated aerial assaults beyond the frontline in recent months, focusing on critical energy, military, and transport infrastructure.
