Ukrainian President Thanks Germany Chancellor for Military Aid

KYIV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy telephoned to the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and thanked for the provision of additional Patriot, IRIS-T, and Skynex systems, along with missiles and rounds for existing anti-aircraft missile systems.

“Thank you, Olaf, for your leadership! This tangible support for Ukraine during this critical period is greatly appreciated. I urge leaders of partner states to follow suit,” stated the Head of State.

President Zelenskyy also talked about the current energy situation, particularly in the Kharkiv region and other affected areas, and provided updates on the operational status on the front lines and the current requirements of the Defence Forces.

Furthermore, the President expressed appreciation for the Czech initiative in procuring artillery shells for Ukraine, emphasizing the significance of timely execution for its effectiveness.

The two leaders discussed arrangements for the upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference in Germany during the summer and the organization of the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland. They also collaborated on efforts to ensure broad participation from countries of the Global South.
