SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has raised serious concerns regarding the dire situation of illegally-detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, enduring prolonged incarceration in the infamous prisons of India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir for years.
As per reports from Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesperson, speaking from Srinagar, strongly condemned the relentless wave of arrests initiated by Indian forces across the occupied territory under the guise of search operations. The spokesperson highlighted that over four thousand leaders and activists associated with the Kashmir resistance movement have been unjustly imprisoned on unfounded allegations.
Referring to these arbitrary detentions as a prime example of political vengeance, the spokesperson emphasized that such oppressive measures aim to alter the narrative of freedom in Kashmir—a dream consistently thwarted by the Indian regime since its unlawful occupation of the region in 1947.
Praising the resilience and courage of the unlawfully detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, including prominent figures such as APHC Chairman Musarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and many others, the spokesperson condemned their unjust imprisonment on baseless charges within Indian and IIOJK jails.
The APHC representative implored the United Nations to recognize the plight of Kashmiri political prisoners enduring inhumane conditions without access to medical aid or fundamental necessities. Emphasizing the necessity to resolve the Kashmir dispute in alignment with UN resolutions, the spokesperson stressed its significance in fostering regional and global peace and prosperity.
