GENEVA: The UN called on Friday for an immediate ceasefire in Syria to assist facilitate bringing help to all victims of the region’s overwhelming earthquake.
In a statement, the UN rights office said that at this time Syria and Turkey, they call for immediate delivery of aid to all in need.

The UN human rights chief Volker Turk calls for complete respect for human rights and law obligations so aid can reach to everyone.
The call comes as rescue teams continued their search for survivors in the wreckage of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday, with the toll now more than 22,000.
Reports said that more than 3,377 people have died in quake-hit areas of Syria. The UN first convoy of relief crossed into Syria on Thursday following damage to roads meant it had been closed since the quake hit several parts of Syria.
Reports added that the second UN relief convoy for victims of the quake in Syria has also arrived the war hit country. Much parts of Aleppo were damaged in civil war before it was recaptured by Assad’s troops in late 2016.
