GENEVA: Satellite image analyzed by the United Nations Satellite Centre has shown that 30 percent of Gaza Strip’s buildings have been destroyed by the Israeli bombardment.
According to Gaza health ministry Israel’s offensive, launched on October 7, has killed more than 27,000 Palestinians so far.
As per the United Nations Satellite Centre air strikes, shelling has razed entire city districts, including much civilian infrastructure in the Palestinian enclave.
UNOSAT said overall 69,147 structures, equivalent to approximately 30% of the Gaza Strip’s total structures, are damaged.
It added 22,131 structures in the area have been identified as destroyed, with an additional 14,066 noted severely damaged and 32,950 having sustained moderate damage.
A new analysis based on a satellite image acquired on 6 and 7 January reveals that 30% of Gaza Strip structures have been damaged.

The UNOSAT added that the regions of Gaza City and Khan Younis had witnessed the most significant rise in damage since the previous analysis.
The two areas have seen 10,280 and 11,894 newly damaged structures in comparison to the UNOSAT’s previous analysis based on images from November 26.
According to the UNOSAT’s analysis d 93,800 housing units have been damaged in the Gaza Strip.
