UNITED NATIONS: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed deep concern over Israel’s airstrikes on Hodeidah in Yemen, urging all parties to avoid attacks that could harm civilians and damage infrastructure.

The strikes, a retaliation for a Houthi drone attack on Tel Aviv, left several dead and over 80 injured.

The Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV in its broadcast stated that Israeli planes targeted a power plant and a fuel storage facility. Yemen’s internationally recognized government condemned the airstrikes, labeling them a violation of international laws and holding Israel accountable for exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

The government urged the Houthis to prioritize national interests and engage in peace, calling on the international community to support Yemen’s authority and implement Resolution 2216. They also reiterated support for the Palestinian people and called for an end to Israeli aggression.
