UNHCR’s Efforts to Protect Refugees
Pakistan, as a host country, has been providing refuge to a significant number of Afghan refugees for several decades. In this context, the World Refugee Day event in Islamabad provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of creating sustainable livelihoods and vocational skills training for Afghan refugees residing in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. These initiatives are crucial in helping them build a better future for themselves and their families.
UNHCR, along with its partners, continues to work diligently to support and protect refugees, ensuring their access to essential services such as education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities. The organization also advocates for the rights of refugees and seeks to foster social inclusion and integration within host communities.
