UNHCR, KSrelief Sign Agreement to Provide Shelter Aid in Ukraine

RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) have signed today a cooperation deal with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to provide shelter aid to internally displaced persons and those impacted by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, with a total project cost of more than $10 million, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

As per the deal, around 11,000 shelter kits, about 2,400 rapid thermal kits, and 4,700 winter supplies, including construction materials for home insulation as well as heating, will be distributed, benefiting around 48,870 people affected by the crisis.

This deal is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) broader humanitarian endeavors, facilitated via KSrelief, to assist refugees and internally displaced persons across the world and ensure they have the necessary resources for a dignified livelihood.

The deal was inked at the KSrelief headquarters in Riyadh by the Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs at KSrelief Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz and UNHCR Deputy High Commissioner Kelly Clements, the SPA added.

It further reported that Advisor to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah also attended the signing ceremony.
