US Ambassador Calls on Air Chief to Discuss Defence Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Donald Blome, US Ambassador to Pakistan, called on Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, here in Islamabad on Thursday and discussed matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the discussion highlighted issues pertaining to the geo-political environment leading to new regional security challenges, consolidating the already fortified bilateral relations and fostering collaborative endeavours within the realms of aviation and defence.

The Air Chief accentuated the cordial ties that exist between the two countries while stressing his steadfast determination to further elevate the existing synergistic partnership between the two important allies, according to a press note released by PAF.

He said that Pakistan deeply values its diplomatic, defence, and economic relations with the US which are firmly rooted in mutual consensus concerning all important issues pertaining to regional security, peace, and stability.

On the occasion, the envoy appreciated the professionalism of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) personnel and acknowledged the considerable strides made by PAF through indigenization.

Recognizing the necessity of comprehensive and rigorous training, he assured to play his due role in addressing the gaps in the training domain to ensure that PAF personnel receive the highest standard training, enabling them to successfully meet the evolving challenges of modern warfare.

US Ambassador Admires Pakistan’s Commitment to Peace

The US diplomat also expressed his admiration for the steadfast commitment of Pakistan to facilitate regional peace and stability.

Both sides concurred to further optimize the existing military-to-military ties between the two nations, with a particular focus on enriching training and boosting operational competencies.
