US Ambassador, Pakistan’s Finance Minister Discuss Investment, Trade Ties

ISLAMABAD: The United States Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome on Monday called on Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb to discuss key aspects of the Pakistan-US trade, investment, and economic relationship.

In the meeting, the envoy underlined the ongoing support of the US for Pakistan’s economic reform agenda.

He noted that the US was committed to working with Pakistan in technical and development initiatives.

Bloome stressed that the United States remains Pakistan’s largest export market, a major source of high-standard investment and a strong partner for the economic future of Pakistan.

IMF Mission Visit to Pakistan

The meeting took place at a time when the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation, led by Mission Chief Nathan Porter, visited Pakistan and held extensive talks from May 13 to May 23 to discuss Pakistan’s economic improvements.

The IMF mission assured Pakistan of its commitment to working together for sustainable economic growth.

Islamabad has successfully met the targets set under the Standby Arrangement Agreement, which will support the forthcoming new loan programme.
