ISLAMABAD: US Congressman General Jack Bergman held a meeting with Pakistani American Republican Club (PARC) to further strengthen US-Pakistan relations.

According to a press release issued by the PARC on Wednesday, General Bergman (R-MI), a congressman and Co-Chairman of the Pakistani American Congressional Caucus, met with directors of the PARC to discuss strengthening US-Pakistan relations and increasing political engagement within the Pakistani American community.

Diverse topics discussed

According to the statement, the discussion covered key areas of bilateral cooperation, including economic affairs, education, technology, security, defence, and intelligence.

A significant focus was also placed on the war against terrorism, acknowledging the long-standing partnership between the United States and Pakistan in combating global threats. Both sides emphasised the need to develop strategic frameworks to eradicate terrorism from the region, ensuring lasting peace and prosperity—particularly for the people of Pakistan.

General Bergman also expressed a strong interest in engaging with the Pakistani diaspora in both Michigan and across the country. He encouraged greater participation in American politics at all levels and reaffirmed his commitment to keeping his office open to his constituents.

Pakistan visit

The meeting also touched upon General Bergman’s upcoming visit to Pakistan, where he will meet with key dignitaries to further strengthen diplomatic and economic ties.

As a highly respected military leader and influential Republican, his dedication to fostering international partnerships underscores the importance of continued collaboration, the statement said.

The directors of the PARC encouraged all Pakistani Americans to take an active role in civic and political engagement by joining PARC.
