KARACHI: The US dollar depreciated by Rs7.09 against the Pakistani rupee in interbank in Friday’s early trading session as the local currency finally regained some strength after bearing a blood bath yesterday. The greenback was being traded at Rs278 during the intra-day trade.

Yesterday’s historic plunge

The appreciation comes after the local currency recorded a historic one-day drop of Rs18.89 against the US dollar in the interbank market the previous day.
