US-funded English Works Alumni Meet, Greet Ceremony Held at NUML

ISLAMABAD: The English Works (EW) alumni met and greeted at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Friday.

The EW is a US-funded program introduced by the NUML at its main campus and Rawalpindi branch, each with a student strength of 100. Alumni from the first cohort also attended to share their success stories, experiences and learning with the second cohort participants.

NUML Director General Brigadier Syed Nadir Ali was the chief guest of the ceremony, while Pro Rectors, Directors, Deans, faculty members, and participants of the EW also attended the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Director General NUML Brig Syed Nadir Ali stated that it is an excellent opportunity for the participants of the event to learn various skills to excel in their respective fields and life.

He appreciated the success stories of the alumni and urged the Regional English Language Office (RELO), US Embassy, to broaden the program’s canvas to various parts of the country as “NUML has campuses in all major cities in the country.” He thanked RELO for its firm trust in NUML for undertaking the project.

It is essential to mention that the program mainly focuses on the use of English in the professional world, employability skills, and common international values of cross-cultural competence, harmony, tolerance, and UN SDGs, enabling Pakistani youth to secure better opportunities for jobs and education at home and abroad, and initiating start-ups through training in entrepreneurial skills.
