ISLAMABAD/WASHINGTON: The United States has said that North Korea could continue supplying arms to Wagner group mercenaries in Ukraine as it released an image it said showed a shipment of rockets and advanced missiles being collected.

According to Sky News, North Korea has denied the claims and by Wagner owner Yevgeny Prigozhin, who last month called it “gossip and speculation”.

US stance on the Russian train collected arms

The White House said that the satellite picture was taken on 18 November and showed a Russian train travelling to North Korea to collect the arms.

John Kirby, White House national security spokesperson, said that on November 19, 2022, N. Korea has loaded the railcars with shipping containers, and a train returned to Russia.

He said that while we assess that the amount of material delivered to Wagner did not change battlefield dynamics in Ukraine, we expect that it could continue to receive North Korean arms systems.

Kirby said tougher sanctions could also be imposed against the Wagner Group and its international support network next week when the US declares it a Transnational Criminal Organization (TCO).
