DELAWARE, USA: The United States has voiced its support for India’s longstanding push to secure a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

This endorsement came during the Quad Leaders’ Summit, where leaders from the US, India, Japan, and Australia emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive reform of the UNSC. The joint statement issued after the summit underscored the importance of updating the global institution to reflect the current geopolitical realities and address 21st-century challenges.

The backing of India’s bid is seen as a significant move, enhancing India’s stature on the global stage and reflecting its growing influence in international affairs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden also held bilateral talks during the summit in Wilmington, Delaware, further strengthening ties between the two nations.
