WASHINGTON: The United States (US) Justice Department will “announce a major, global cryptocurrency enforcement action,” it said in a statement issued on Wednesday, adding the US Department of Treasury will also make an announcement in this regard.
“The US Treasury Department will also announce an action in this regard,” the statement added.
US officials over cryptocurrency
According to the statement, US officials, including Deputy US Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo and Deputy US Attorney General Lisa Monaco will deliver remarks at 12 p.m. (1700 GMT) in Washington.
Other officials will include the US attorney for the Eastern New York district and the associate deputy director of the FBI.
Representatives for Treasury declined to comment further.
