NAMANGAN: Construction of a new border post, which will connect Uzbekistan with Kyrgyzstan, has begun in Namangan region, as reported by UzA.
The Uchkurgan border customs post will be along the Uchkurgan—Madaniyat road, approximately 10 kilometres from Buston mahalla in the Uchkurgan district. Similarly, in the Jalal-Abad region, construction is underway for the Kengsay customs post near the Kyzyl-Tuu village.
According to statements, the establishment of these customs border posts aims to enhance convenience for residents of the Uchkurgan district and promote the economic, logistical, and service sectors in the Namangan region. Shavkat Abdurazzokov, the governor (khokim) of the Namangan region, emphasized that this endeavour will foster closer ties between the Uzbek and Kyrgyz peoples, fostering comprehensive cooperation.
The commissioning of the Uchkurgan and Kengsay border customs posts is scheduled for 2024.
