Uzbekistan and Qatar Discuss Investment Projects and Joint Fund for Development”

BAKU: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan welcomed the former Prime Minister of the State of Qatar and the founder of several significant investment and industrial holdings, Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani.

The Qatar delegation’s visit to Uzbekistan focused on advancing high-level agreements and exploring promising investment opportunities.

The discussions included various investment projects aimed at enhancing economic cooperation between the two nations. These projects encompass a wide range of sectors, such as the construction of a modern hotel complex in Bukhara city, the establishment of a large logistics center, the development of a shopping and residential complex in Tashkent city, and the creation of high-speed road and railway infrastructure.

Furthermore, plans were put forward for the modernization of airports, as well as projects in energy, metallurgy, textile industry, livestock farming, and the manufacturing of building materials. These initiatives are poised to foster economic growth and strengthen ties between Uzbekistan and Qatar.

One notable aspect of the discussions was the proposal to establish a joint fund to provide financial support for these projects. This collaborative approach aims to ensure the successful implementation of the investment ventures, promoting economic development and mutual prosperity.

These projects will be carried out according to a joint action plan, emphasizing the commitment of both countries to bolster economic cooperation and expand investment opportunities.
