Uzbekistan and Russia Forge Industrial Cooperation Roadmap During Kremlin Talks

TASHKENT: In a significant step toward bolstering their ties, Uzbekistan and Russia have agreed to prepare a road map on industrial cooperation. The announcement followed a fruitful meeting between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on October 6.

Both leaders expressed their satisfaction with the positive trajectory of the multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, highlighting the dynamic growth in their industrial collaboration. Russian investments in Uzbekistan have been steadily increasing, underlining the strengthening economic partnership between the two nations. During the meeting, the presidents emphasized the need for further enhancing regional cooperation and also discussed measures to ensure social guarantees for Uzbek citizens working in Russia.

Cooperation Between Russia and Uzbekistan

Besides industrial collaboration, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia agreed to implement an extensive cultural cooperation program for the years 2024-2025. This move underscores their commitment to fostering cultural ties and people-to-people connections. The discussions also touched upon various regional and international matters of mutual interest, reflecting the depth of their diplomatic engagement.

The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, culminating in both parties reaffirming their dedication to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev embarked on a working visit to Russia on October 5, which is scheduled to continue until October 7, 2023.

As part of the visit’s itinerary, President Mirziyoyev visited Kazan, where he explored the city’s industrial potential and engaged in a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. These interactions underscore the collaborative spirit driving the bilateral relationship between Uzbekistan and Russia, laying the groundwork for mutually beneficial initiatives and partnerships in various sectors.
