Uzbekistan, JICA Vow to Extend Cooperation in Diverse Sectors

TASHKENT: Uzbekistan and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) have discussed matters for bilateral collaboration in the areas of irrigation, agriculture, energy, and the social sphere, local media reported on Saturday.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, the matters were deliberated during a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, Bobur Khodjaev, and a delegation led by Bito Yoshibumi, the head of JICA representation in Uzbekistan.

Participants also discussed other prospective directions for bilateral cooperation related to the “green” economy, investments in human capital, and public-private partnership ventures across various domains.

Moreover, they investigated the feasibility of leveraging technical assistance from JICA to bolster industrial policy and explore international best practices. The parties explored the feasibility of engaging technical assistance from the agency to improve and study international experience in industrial policy.
